With a wealth of senior-level industry experience, Greg Carr is a highly knowledgeable and experienced senior consultant with Verde. Across nearly two decades, he’s worked as a business analyst, project manager, customer relationship manager, Year 2000 Programme Co-ordinator, process analyst and is regarded as an Excel power user to boot. He holds a Diploma in Business and IT from Wellington Polytechnic.
Greg’s considerable expertise is applied in DataSure setup and monitoring – a crucial role protecting Greentree user data – Greentree upgrades, system setups and troubleshooting, business analysis and customer value delivery. Unsurprisingly, Greg is also the go-to for Excel add-ins.
He came to Verde after first working at a customer where he became the resident Greentree expert. Further demonstrating his talent for the solution, Greg developed a properly management module within Greentree; it was clear his expertise was best applied within the software industry and the rest is history.
What keeps Greg coming back for more is his love of working with business get the best use of their systems. This led to his greatest achievement to date – scoping, setting up and evolving the GS1 Webview site to streamline business and invoicing processes. He takes great satisfaction in a job well done, particularly with the delivery of the DataSure backup service. Little wonder that his antithesis is ransomware and fake Microsoft support calls.
‘It’s amazing what technology is emerging from automated processes, to the power of computers, handheld technology, artificial intelligent and web tools,’ says Greg. His words to live by are ‘help others whenever you can. And be kind’. These values derive from his father, with whom Greg credits for his own problem-solving skills.
A family man of note, Greg has 5 children and 4 grandsons. He’s won medals in Dragon boating, enjoys kayak fishing with his wife and adult daughter and lives with quite the menagerie on a North Waikato lifeDstyle block featuring over 10 types of chickens, 3 goats, 2 cats, 5 golden bell frogs, and a few cattle.
